The new Cambridgeshire County Council Lib Dem group met for the first time last Friday. 10 of its 23 members are new and there is now a healthy mix of young and old, the average age is less than 50, and male and female. Members also bring experience of both the private and public sectors.

The group elected its spokes team including leader and deputy leader.

The team comprises:

Corporate Services: David Jenkins and Rupert Moss-Eccardt
Growth and the Environment: Nichola Harrison and Kilian Bourke
Adults and Community Services: Fiona Whelan and Michael Williamson
Children and Young People: Peter Downes and Lucy Netshinga

David, who was re-elected group leader, said: ‘this group is perhaps even stronger than the one in the last council. The new faces are refreshing and it’s an exciting group to lead. We have elected a spokes team and we’ve been able to bring in new talent.’
