Let’s keep our footpaths clear

Some of our footpaths are narrow enough at the best of time but at this time of year with vegetation growing vigorously  we seem to lose what we’ve got. Water Lane in Oakington is typical. The footpath on the north of the road is the only footpath for people from Saxon Way etc to walk into the village and it’s badly overgrown.

David says: ‘Residents have brought this to my attention and it really is pretty bad. The County Council is aware of the problem but seems to have a resource problem. It says it’ll fix it but when?’

‘In it’s current condition this path is dangerous. It forces push chair and motorised buggy users into the road and this road can be quite busy. One day there’ll be an accident.’
