2008/09 expenses
I have uploaded all my expense claims for the last financial year. They can be accessed by clicking Expenses in the menu box on the left. I will upload previous years’ claims shortly but if you’d like to see them in the meantime please drop me an email and I’ll send them to you. I also post April and May 2009 as soon as I have completed them.

Cambridgeshire Lib Dems publish 2009 election manifesto
Cambridgeshire Liberal Democrats have published their manifesto for the forthcoming Cambridgeshire County Council elections. These will take place 4th June, the same day as the European Parliamentary Elections. Read the rest of this entry.
Sir Clement Freud died 15 Apr 09
Younger people may only know Sir Clement from the Radio 4 panel show ‘Just a Minute’, his last contribution to which was broadcast a few weeks ago. Certainly he was a regular panelist for over 40 years, the show started in 1967, and he was the only surviving member of the original panel. Back in 1967 Clement Freud was one of the first ‘celebrity chefs’, a restaurateur, a writer on food, drink and horse racing, and a TV and radio personality. His dry, mordant wit and lugubrious manner made him then the perfect foil for other Just a Minute panelists such as Kenneth Williams. County Lib Dems given national award
At the recent Lib Dem spring conference in Harrogate the Cambridgeshire County Council Lib Dem group was named ‘highly commended’ in the Local Governement Association (LGA) Lib Dem group of the year awards. Read the rest of this entry.
Let’s get the name right: it’s Orchard Park
Someone should tell Gallaghers that it’s Orchard Park not Arbury Park. The school is Orchard Park community primary school, the council is Orchard Park Community Council, Stagecoach’s bus timtetables refer to Orchard Park and the community web-site is no longer inside Arbury park but www.insideorchardpark.com. Cambridgeshire Lib Dems propose a 2.9% council tax rise and over £10 million more for priority services
The Liberal Democrat alternative budget for Cambridgeshire proposes a 2.9%increase in Council Tax this year compared to the Conservative plan for a 4.7% hike, way above inflation. Next year the LD increase would be 3.7% as against another 4.7% from the Tories. In addition, the Liberal Democrats propose £10.5 million extra spending on priority services.
