HICCA(Histon and Impington Climate Change Action) is launching its ‘Greening Histon and Impington’ campaign this Saturday (28 Feb 09) with an event at the Histon Baptist Church. The event runs from 2 to 4 pm with the official launch taking place at 3pm. There’s going to be a lot of activity which will be both informative and entertaining which will make it a great afternoon out for families. There’s more info on the HICCA web-site.

As a part of the campaign HICCA has also distributed ‘Greening Histon & Impington’ cards to every household in the villages. On the reverse of the card is a 10 point questionnaire to assess the ‘greenness’ of residents’ households. If they score more than 5 residents are invited to put the cards in their windows. There will then be a big count towards the end of March and the results will be announced in April.

 County Councillor  and HICCA supporter David Jenkins said: ‘I encourage everyone to turn up. It will be a good day and it’s always good to meet others who share your interests. I’ve done the 10 point check for my household and we scored 6 plus. With a Hippo in the cistern and a check of our insulation situation and we’ll get up to 9!. My card is going up now.’
